My Celica

This is a picture of my 1994 Toyota Celica. Its so hard to believe that it is fourteen years old because back then cars didn't really have round curves. This is actually the 6th generation Celica. The 6th generations were from the years 1994-1999. Everyday I get compliments on my car and people ask if its a 2001 or higher and when I tell them no its a 1994 they don't believe me. I am thankful for the car I have and I love putting time and work into it. I see the pictures and actual 6th generation Celicas and I see beauty and innovation from
Toyota and the great work that they put out. The Celica has a nickname of "The Baby Supra" because the Supra is a very fast Toyota and also the Celicas older brother. the Celica's body style resembles the body of a Toyota Supra. I write about and talk about my Celica because it is very rare to find now and no matter what happens its a faithful car and I will always keep it. As all vehicles it just need some love and care and it will return the same love and care to you. I believe that if you don't take care of your vehicles then why own one. For people just to beat on and mistreat their vehicles then put them down and get mad when something happens, thats just wrong. I do like to race but I am not out beating the streets looking for money or someone to race because its not worth losing my car, my license, or my life. Cars are one thing that keep me out of trouble because I am always working on mine or a friends who doesn't know much about cars. I like to teach others the basics and even intermediate skills of cars. Vehicles are my peace and my getaway from stress.

My Car

One of my greatest passions is working on cars and not only fixing them but making them better. My car is the most particular to this. I have a 1994 Toyota Celica that I inherited from my father after being wrecked by my older sister. I did most of the work myself with taking it apart and getting ready to be sent to the body shop to be straightened out and painted how I wanted it. Ive always had experience with cars so I had already known my way around them but I cannot do body work so I sent it out. Well after about $2800 dollars worth of parts, paint, and labor costs my car was back to new looking. At one point before this I wanted to give up on my car and get a different one because parts for my car are not only expensive but hard to find because my car is imported right from Japan. All parts have to come from Japan which makes them less unavailable and more expensive. I had the car painted and fixed in November and it ran fine all the way until April where my motor had blown. Well another $800 dollars had to be invested into buying a new motor but I had no labor cost this time because it was motor work and thats something I can do. My father, some friends, and I pulled my motor and put the new one in all in one weekend. We put at least 20 hours of work into my car in just one weekend. It was fun but very tiring. While putting the new motor in, me and my father had some cheap ideas to get more performance and power out of my car so we did that all in that weekend and I gained about 50 more horsepower just from two little things that we knew how to do. We got my car on the ground and everything in place and to our astonishment it started right up and we had no problems. The swap was a major success. Now the car has a transmission problem but I am taking care of it by buying another transmission and putting that in myself. Cars can be stressful but if you have the means and the time to work on them they can be fun.

Broken Kneecap

It was just another day with my friends just skateboarding around the city and just having fun listening to music and fooling around. The day was beautiful and we wanted to get some footage for a skate video we were making. Well we just couldn't find the right spot to go even though we had already had some good footage. We wanted to go bigger and we had eventually found this spot. It was about eight feet high with a long grass gap that you had to clear as it dropped. Well I was the first to try it and I rolled up a couple of times but just got a funny feeling every time so I kept going back and rolling up again. The landing was a bit rocky but could've been avoided or at least I thought. I got sick of just rolling up and then not actually going for it. I finally went for it after about five times and as i ollied it, I just didn't feel right and it was too late to bail out. I ended up with only getting my front foot on the board and driving my left kneecap into this rocky ground while the front foot was still on the board rolling. I had a huge gash in my kneecap but I figured it was just another wipe out so I wrapped it and we headed to my house so i could clean it up and go back out. I got to my house and my mother saw it and tried to not let me go back out but i insisted that i was fine. Well when we went back out i now found that I wasn't fine. I went to do another gap and when I ollied my kneecap popped and I instantly fell to the ground. The pain was indescribable and we now headed back home again. Turns out I broke my kneecap in half and to this very day its still broken in some ways and I can feel pain in it every now and then. That particular accident makes me think more every time I go big.

Poem #3

Hours Past

Hours past and time wasted
I sit here all alone and segregated
Wishing that you will come back to me
I am so sick of being lonely

All the times we've spent
I cannot just give up on you
Remember all the places we went?
It would be the unruly thing to do

Hours past and time wasted
I'm close to my breaking point
I miss your voice
All this time that has passed

Poem #2

Modification

Modification means one word to me
Only the best can perfect
Dreams can be made
If you aim for success
Failure is only a test
I will prevail and become the best
Countless hours spent under the hood
All times of the day, whenever is good
Tools scattered everywhere
In the garage is where my car has spent great time
On the streets it is my time to shine
Nothing else i can call mine

Poem #1

Cars

Cars are a wonderful hobby of mine
To get what you eventually want
It will take alot of time
But in the end it was all a good days work

Cars are just a hobby not a career
My car is made for the streets
Sure your not always the fastest
But my car can be a beast

Cars are exhilarating if done right
Cars should not be mistreated
In the midst of the night
My car shines from the moonlight

Song Analysis #3

"Simple Man"
Shinedown

Well mama told me, when I was young
Said sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this, it'll help you some sunny day

Ahhh
Yeah it will

Or take your time don't live to fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You'll find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget that there's is a someone up above

[Chorus]
Be a simple kind of man
Be a something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
(if you can)

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need now is in your soul
And you can do this(oh baby)if you try
All that I want from you my son is to be satisfied

[Chorus]
And be a simple kind of man
Be a something that you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
(if you can)

Oh don't you worry
You'll find yourself
Follow your heart
And nothing else
And you can do this(oh baby)if you try
All that I want from you my son is to be satisfied

[Chorus]
And be a simple kind of man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can
So baby be a simple be a simple man
Oh won't you do this for me son if you can

This song was originally made by Lyndard Skyndard but this is the covered version of Shinedown and is dedicated to Dimebag Darryll who was the lead guitarist for a band called Pantera. Dimebag was said to be a great friend and a loving person to all who he respected and he had passed away so they dedicated this song to him because in a way it resembles him.

The song is entitled "Simple Man" because it talks of how much easier life will be if you just do whats right and what your good and and to not just do what everyone else wants/expects you to. It says that money isn't a solution of all problems and that the true solution lies in your soul and your fate will be determined from that. The song is sang in the form of a son who has heard all this from his mother. She had told him that he should always follow his heart and his passion because that will make life less stressful and more simple and thats how the song got the title "Simple Man".

I like this song because it explains life as it should be rather than how in many cases it isn't because peoples problems rely within what they are told. Many people will choose money over happiness because they think that with money comes happiness. This can be true in some cases but for the most part money is only a necessity when used to live not as an accessory. Life was made to not only survive through hardships and problems but to also not be stressed out the whole time.

Song Analysis #2

"Sorry"
Buckcherry

Oh I had a lot to say was thinking on my time away
I missed you and things weren't the same

[Pre-Chorus:]
Cause everything inside it never comes out right
And when I see you cry it makes me want to die

[Chorus:]
I'm sorry I'm bad, I'm sorry I'm blue, I'm sorry about all things I said to you
And I know I can't take it back
I love how you kiss, I love all your sounds, and baby the way you make my world go round
And I just wanted to say I'm sorry:

This time I think I'm to blame it's harder to get through the days
You get older and blame turns to shame

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

Every single day I think about how we came all this way
The sleepless nights and the tears you cried it's never too late to make it right
Oh yeah sorry!

[Chorus]

The song "Sorry" by Buckcherry is about a guys life falling apart relationship wise. He apologizes all throughout the song to the girl that he loves because he lost her after a huge mistake. He talks of how he misses her and how he has said some things to her which he now regrets and that he can't take them back but he can only try to fix the mistakes and build off past problems. He cannot get her out of his head and he keeps reiterating of how he cannot get her out of his head and he looks back at all the wonderful times that they had together and how great he felt when she kissed him. I feel that everyone in life has a certain love and they will cherish it just as the guy in the song does. When your with the love of your life then you never want it to end and when there is problems then it just makes you feel like nothing in the world is good enough for you. This whole song is basically one big apology for the way that things are going with him and the girl that he loves. He says that he is the one to blame for the issues that they are having and that they've grown so strong that hes now ashamed that they are going through what they are.

"The Gift"
Seether

Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

I can't face myself when I wake up
And look inside a mirror
I'm so ashamed of that thing
I suppose I'll let it go
Untill I have something more to say for me
I'm so afraid of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to defy

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Hold me now I need to feel complete
Like I matter to the one I need

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Now I'm ashamed of this
I am so ashamed of this
Now I'm so ashamed of me
I am so ashamed of me...

This song is actually a love song written by the band Seether. He talks of how he is ashamed at the defeat of his love. What he means by defeat is that if you watch the music video he looks to be abusing this girl and that makes him feel defeated and ashamed of himself and he cannot deal with that. What he means by the gift is the gift of love and he is ashamed of it because she has given him her love and he goes and abuses/mistreats her, therefore he did not return the proper love to her. He now cannot get this defeat out of his head and throughout the whole song he just keeps reiterating on how he is ashamed of himself. He says he cant even look at himself the same in the mirror anymore.
Many people can interpret this song in a different way but I see it as a love song and somewhat of a way for him to apologize. Everyone has the gift of love at one point in there life and there is always someone out there for anyone and everyone. He had this gift but he lost it when he had made many mistakes and didn't cherish his love and treat her the right way and now he is regretting it and he knows that he may never be able to win her back. It scares him everyday not being with her and he cannot look at himself or be himself again until he knows that she is back with him and that things can be better.
